Bombas Ideal Fire Fighting Packages
Description
- This equipment uses Bombas Ideal’s range of DIN 24255 standard pumps. Extensive experience in the manufacture of fire-fighting equipment has allowed standardization in the design and manufacture of this product whilst meeting the requirements of the UNE 23500-90. Standard and CEPREVEN Technical Rule R.T.2-ABA
- The most important features are:
- Comprehensive design of all the equipment supplied for automatic firefighting service.
- Modular design and manufacturing systems which can be set up to suit specific Client requirements, i.e. single or multiple main pumps driven by either electric motor or diesel engine
Principal Components
- Electrically driven main pump
- Diesel engine driven main pump
- Auxiliary jockey pump
- Accumulator vessel (membrane type)
- Check valves – Handwheel operated isolating valves
- Set of pressure switches and gauges
- Pressure-limiting valve
- “Pump” ruining’ safety pressure switch
- Electric motor – Diesel Engine
- Discharge manifold – Electric starting and control panels
- Test manifold and flow meter (optional).
Main Pump
- The main pump is designed to deliver the specified flow of water at a pressure determined by the requirements of the Fire Fighting system. It is capable of discharging a minimum of 140% of the rated flow at not less than 70% of its rated pressure.
- The BOMBAS IDEAL pumps are manufactured in accordance with DIN 24255. The wearing parts in contact with the pumped water are manufactured in corrosion resistant materials, the impeller and wear rings are made of bronze and the pump shaft is stainless steel.
- The flexible spacer type coupling is fitted to both electric and diesel driven pumps; this allows the impeller assembly to be removed without the need to move the pump casing or the driver. The design of the pump casing is such that an air release device is unnecessary
Controllers
- Engine drive controller
The controller is used for starting and controlling the diesel engine and main pump. The main function is to guaranty the start of the diesel pump in the event of fire. All the alarms are for information purposes only. - Electric drive controller
It is used for starting and controlling the operation of the electric main pump and does not incorporate any control for the diesel pump. It can also include the controls for the jockey pump depending on the standard applied. - Jockey pump controller
The controller takes care of maintaining the system pressure in order to start up the jockey pump as needed.
